Richard Castle is a highly successful author of detective novels, who possesses excellent investigative talents not only on the pages of his works, but also in real life. In the last of his books, he kills the main character at the end, which came as a surprise to readers. But not all connoisseurs of creativity took it unequivocally, and some of his murder stories were particularly to their liking. Now a maniac appears in the city, who is trying to carefully copy all the features of the murders in the book and make them come true.
The police catch the copycat, and in order for this process to be as effective as possible, they involve the author himself. They believe that the writer will be able to understand the logic of the killer and predict his actions. Castle's partner does not tolerate him, as she considers the man arrogant, but over time their cooperation acquires warmer tones. This significantly helps the course, as together they combine each other's strengths and weaknesses.
Even when the copycat case is over, such a successful duo cannot simply cease to exist. There are many more interesting things ahead of them, as well as clarifying personal relationships in order to understand who they are to each other, because it's hard to call them just colleagues, although Castle can leave this job whenever he wants.
